HOLE #1 | PAR 3
Furnace
A tough opening hole to focus the mind. Avoiding the bunkers and landing on the narrow perched, gently sloping green is a prerequisite to scoring well.
Get close to sink that putt.
HOLE #2 | PAR 3
Hobnails
The green is well protected by a large complex of bunkers, waiting to trap a wayward ball. The unwary could be wrong-footed by not taking into account the right-sloping green surround.
HOLE #3 | PAR 3 3
The Judge
A rigorous test for par at the longest hole of the course, measuring 285M from the back tee-box. A wayward shot will be punished harshly, as the green is guarded on all sides by bunkers and fairway run-offs. This hole is a spectacular visual feast for the eye.
HOLE #4 | PAR 3
Anvil
A crisp accurate strike of the ball is a key requisite to scoring well and landing your ball on the narrow perched green. Choose your club carefully for distance and trust your swing.
HOLE #5 | PAR 3
Rusty Rounder
Relax a little but keep your wits about you on this relatively forgiving hole. A wide, inviting gently sloping green awaits, but avoid the bunkers if you want a quiet life.
HOLE #6 | PAR 3
Father Time
An unerring tee-shot at the flag will be richly rewarded with par, or better. Anything less will require a tough ‘up-and-in’.
HOLE #7 | PAR 3
Scorched Ochre
Nestled in a natural amphitheatre, this hole rewards a skilled shot onto a beautifully draped green, which has undulating forms throughout. Be the club!
HOLE #8 | PAR 3
Sometime Later
Playing from an elevated tee complex shows the entire green surface beautifully,. This allows for a more aggressive shot by the brave, to attack the flag for par or better.
HOLE #9 | PAR 3
Grim Reaper
Another long hole stretching to 280M, playing downhill from the ‘tips’. The largest green on the course can
be reached, but anything overshot will find a spectacular body of water. Don’t be spooked by the graveyard behind the tee-box. Whooooo!
HOLE #10 | PAR 3
Arrival
On the turn, this hole is short, but tricky to keep the ball on a very narrow green. Accuracy is essential to walk away with par, which is a good score here. Time for light refreshments at the half-way house.
HOLE #11 | PAR 3
The Beach
A picturesque green, complemented by a ‘beach’ bunker, defines the intrinsic beauty of this hole.
HOLE #12 | PAR 3
Shires
“At one with nature” describes this hole, with a creek running up the left side to a perched green complex. Soft undulations in the surrounding terrain give the unmistakable impression that it was ‘forged by nature’.”
HOLE #13 | PAR 3
Harvest
A substantial green divided by a ‘valley’, creating three separate putting surfaces, for creative flag placement on this hole. Aiming directly towards the natural stream, correct club selection is crucial to gauge distance
for a good score here. A truly distinctive hole configuration.
HOLE #14 | PAR 3
Fear Not
The shortest hole on the course can give a false sense-of-security to the foolhardy golfer. Playing directly over the stream to a narrow green, flanked by a long bunker, makes this hole more of a challenge than you think. Beware!
HOLE #15 | PAR 3
Homeward Ahoy!
On the home turn, this is
a spectacular looking hole, accentuated by the body of water running the entire length to the green. A long 250M Par 3, favours a ‘bail-out’ shot to the right, while avoiding the sharp ‘fall-off’ towards the water on the left at all costs.
HOLE #16 | PAR 3
Coppertop
A wonderfully ‘draped’ putting surface, surrounded by a natural amphitheatre, welcomes all but the most wayward tee-shot. A feeling of complete satisfaction is experienced after playing this masterpiece, with the subtly sculpted terrain and swaying grasses in the breeze.
HOLE #17 | PAR 3
Golden Sunset
A testing hole playing uphill, with a ‘forced carry’ for most of the width of the green. The combined use of natural material variations and surfaces in different hues and a lush green, make this penultimate hole very easy on the eye.
HOLE #18 | PAR 3
Wee Laddie
The ‘Island’ closer with all the ingredients of a great finishing hole. A well-guarded green, with water behind and bunkers across the front, requires a perfect shot for par. Spectator value guaranteed followed by a wee dram at the bar to celebrate
